"Where are we going today?" asked Nora as they paddled along.
"Look ahead" said Etseh. "See that big flat hill up ahead? We call that Kwe?ehdoo or Blood Rock. We'll stop there and I'll tell you another story about Yamozhah."
When they reached the shore, Nora hopped out of the canoe, grabbing the rope. Soon both canoes were tied up and they started climbing the hill. Luckily, a cool breeze kept the bugs away.
"Why is it so flat up here?" asked John as they approached the top of the hill.
Resting on a large rock, Etseh explained. "This hill is where Yamozhah was born, along with his mischievous brother 'Ts'idzoo'. The story says that this hill is really the skull of Yamozhah's giant grandfather. They say that the brothers killed their grandfather by cutting open the top of his skull when he was sleeping. They threw hot rocks into his head and he turned to stone."
