The Wolverine in Aboriginal Cultures

Wolverines appear frequently in the legends of the Dene. In the stories of 'floating time', when humans and animals communicated and shifted from one form to another, the wolverine was often a dangerous figure, preying on hunters and travellers. In some legends, however, the wolverine possesses great healing powers, and is revered by humans as a result. They are always considered to be very powerful and magical creatures.
